Comedy and romance meet in this madcap adventure. Cousins Gerrit and Frederik land up on the farm of an eccentric farmer whose only concern is that they might harm his prize bull. On the urging of his father Oom Sias and daughter Cecile, the farmer allows the men to stay and while Frederik proves handy around the farm, Gerrit devotes himself to winning Cecile.

For his part, Frederik falls in love with the neighbour’s daughter and succeeds in mending the longstanding rift between the neighbouring farmers. The police, who have been after Frederik, eventually catch up with him, but it is only to ask his band to play at their annual function. Still, that means Frederik must leave his newfound job on the farm. It is the meddling Oom Sias who comes to the rescue by inviting the whole band to stay on the farm and practise in the lounge.
